Disney Cruise Lines

Disney cruise lines, a dream come true
You hear often people saying how wonderful it would be to go on a cruise. And I agree there are so many nice cruises anything from a luxury one to a fun filled one to a child friendly cruise to cruises for adults only. Cruises are really on offer for anybody’s taste and for anybody’s wallet so to speak. Fifteen years ago cruises might only have been a way of holidaying for the rich people amongst us. Not any longer, cruises can be found in all kind of price ranges and do no longer have to cost you an arm and a leg.
For me cruising is a wonderful and relaxing way to enjoy your holiday, at least that is how I imagine it but as a matter of fact I have never been on one as a holidaymaker. To date I have only experienced a cruise ship from the other side so to speak. My goal is to work on a cruise ship. I have dreamt about this since I was a little girl. I wanted to be that person that welcomes everybody on board of that nice and amazing cruise ship. And after quite some dreaming about it I have put the wheels in motion and have joined a special training that will help me to fulfill this dream in the near future.
The training is intense as it teaches you all the technical aspects of a cruise ship and combines it with all the hospitality and management skills required in order to be able to function effectively on such a ship. I have just completed a traineeship on the Disney cruise lines which was a fantastic experience. The Disney cruise lines are truly amazing cruise ships. The deco within the ship is spectacular and the crew and cast of the various shows are so professional. Attending the Disney cruise lines as a trainee was such an eye opener. It has made me even more determined that I want to do this work for the rest of my life. I have one and a half more years of training to undergo of which there will be two sets of three months traineeship on another cruises. One will be with Carnival cruises and the last one will again be with the Disney cruise lines.
Of course it is difficult to tell which one of the two operators would be nicer to work for long term, but from my first experience with Disney cruise lines; this would definitely be a very nice employer from my point of view. The work on a cruise ship is of course stressful. There is a lot of pressure on any crew member to perform as after all people have paid a considerable amount of money in order to have a wonderful and enjoyable experience on board of the cruise ship. If things are not working out as these guests might have imagined it is crucial that the crew deals with this appropriately in order to ensure the guests will be satisfied and will leave the cruise ship as happy as can be. One of the things that stood out during my traineeship with Disney cruise lines was a comment the captain made during one of the crew meetings. He was very straight in saying that he did not want to have one unsatisfied customer leave his ship. He would only accept happy customers to leave his ship. He said, one unhappy customer can cause havoc back in his home town, home country and nowadays with the speed of internet this one customer could cause havoc for Disney cruise lines around the world. Bad news travels fast so that needs to be prevented at all times at all cost. Good news is fantastic but travels a bit slower. People are usually keener to share the negative stories of their holiday and negative stories are more newsworthy and therefore easier picked up by other sources that can lead to a massive snowball effect even when the original incident that lead to a unhappy customer was minor. .
